Sisters Vita McDonald and Vilma Cepiene have always valued spending time with family. First they moved to Northampton together from their home in Lithuania, then they set up a florist business together.
When Vilma’s son Titas suggested they look at the new homes available at Westleigh’s Butterfields development, off Booth Lane South, Vita naturally wasn’t far behind.
Less than six months on and the sisters are now living next door to one another in two brand new homes which share a driveway, with three generations of their family.
Vita and husband Steve have been joined by her mother Zita and daughter Maria, 19, in a four bedroom Farringdon style property, whilst Vilma, and her partner John live next door in a three bedroom Witton. Titas, 24, is also staying with Vita whilst looking for a home of his own in the area.
Vita explained: “I have always wanted to live next door to my sister so this is a dream come true. I hadn’t been considering a move at the time but this was a chance for us both to move closer to our business and own the kind of homes we had always wanted.
“The location is ideal for us as it is close to the town centre and we have an easy commute to work, but the development still feels very quiet. It has been well planned and is nicely spread out, not overcrowded and very green.
“All of the houses have some individuality to them, with some slight differences in the designs. It’s a very nice environment to move to together as a family.”
Vita bought her home off plan and enjoyed having an input into how her home would look before she moved in. She said: “It was great to choose our own kitchen fittings and carpets, we could move into a home that really felt like our own from the start. My daughter really likes the kitchen and we now have a separate utility room which is fantastic.
“Westleigh’s team were very helpful, right through from selling my previous home to dealing with solicitors. Anything we asked for their advice on, we would always get some help with. We’re very happy in our new homes and we are enjoying settling in.”
Lisa Morris, New Homes Manger at Westleigh, said: “We’re thrilled for Vita and Vilma that they’ve managed to find their dream homes here at Butterfields and bring their family together in the process. We wish them many happy years here.
“This development strikes a fantastic balance. It offers a quiet, family-friendly environment within easy reach of Northampton town centre and its amenities.
“Butterfields has proven very popular with more than 90% of homes now sold. A small number of two, three and four bedroom homes remain available, however, with prices starting at £219,950.
“We’d encourage anyone who may be interested to enquire as soon as possible to avoid missing out. We have a marketing suite open at the development from 10am to 5pm daily.”
