Leading housing developer Westleigh Partnerships has made two key appointments to its West Midlands team.
The firm has appointed Robert Blaney as a Senior Land Manager, taking on responsibility for operations in Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire.
Robert, an experienced professional who has been in the construction industry for over 20 years, will seek to identify opportunities for new developments, and will work closely with project partners to bring schemes in these areas to fruition.
Luke Hopkins has also joined Westleigh in the position of Senior Design Engineer. He will lead the engineering design aspects of development projects in the West Midlands.
The new appointments form part of Westleigh’s regional expansion plans, which have also seen a new 1,600 sq ft regional office opened at Birmingham Business Park earlier this year.
Robert will work alongside Westleigh’s Head of New Business for the West Midlands, Gino Siani, and Land Manager, Tim Hart help to deliver the company’s growth strategy within the region.
He said: “I am pleased to be a part of this exciting expansion for Westleigh.
“We are a developer with a great reputation for providing homes that are not only high quality and durable, but equally affordable and accessible to all.
“I’m really looking forward to playing my part in bringing much-needed affordable homes to communities across the West Midlands.”
Luke, meanwhile, brings with him 15 years of experience in the civil engineering consultancy industry and has previously worked as a consultant for Westleigh.
He said: “The expansion into the West Midlands makes this an exciting time to be joining Westleigh, building on the company’s achievements in the East Midlands. Westleigh are well respected within the industry with a reputation of valuing their staff, which was a big factor for me in taking up this position.
“Hopefully my experience and contacts in the West Midlands will allow me to contribute towards growing and developing Westleigh’s profile in the region.”
Regional Head of New Business, Gino Siani, said: “We look forward to progressing with our plans in the West Midlands, and we are pleased to have Robert and Luke on board to assist with that.
“They will add an extra dimension to the West Midlands team and will help us bring future projects in the region to fruition.”
Westleigh’s first arrived in the West Midlands in 2014 and has delivered hundreds of affordable homes across Birmingham, the Black Country, Coventry and Warwickshire. It is now seeking to extend those operations to cover Worcestershire and Shropshire. The developer’s ambitions in the region have been fuelled by a £21m investment from private equity firm Palatine’s Birmingham branch last summer.
Westleigh Partnerships is part of the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) Delivery Partner Panel in both the Midlands and Northern regions, working closely with housing associations to build affordable homes throughout the East and West Midlands, Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire. The HCA has recently awarded over £48m of public funding to Westleigh for use on affordable housing schemes in these regions over the next five years.
